Educational and cultural purpose
Runes Academy teaches the runes, Nordic folklore and ancestral traditions as history, language, culture and reflective practice. We take care to separate what is documented, such as inscriptions and sources like the Poetic Edda, from modern interpretation and personal practice, which we present as contemporary.
Not professional advice
- Nothing here is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
- Herbology and ethnobotany lessons describe traditional and historical plant use. They are not guidance for treating any condition. Never use a plant, tea, tincture or preparation without qualified advice, and never stop or change medical treatment because of a course.
- Meditation and reflective exercises are not a substitute for therapy or care. If you feel unwell, distressed or unsafe, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.
No guarantees
Rune reading and similar practices are traditions of reflection, not predictions. We do not promise any outcome in your life, health, relationships or finances, and you should not make major decisions on the strength of a reading.
Respect for the tradition
We stand against the misuse of runic and Norse symbols by hate groups. Our courses are open to everyone who studies with good faith, and we do not accept racist, extremist or discriminatory use of this heritage.
Accuracy
Scholarship on early runic writing and Norse belief is incomplete and debated. We work to be accurate and to flag uncertainty, but we may make errors. If you spot one, please tell us.
